Penn State - Dickinson
« on: March 11, 2005, 04:51:16 PM »
Just got the rejection. I am really surprised about this one since I see a lot of people with lower index numbers getting in or getting waitlisted. I guess the LSAT played a big factor in this because most of the people with lower index numbers had higher LSAT scores than me and lower GPA's. Oh well, I am not going to rant about it. Such is life.

i'm sorry to hear that :(

i received an acceptance there, but after comparing their tuition to duquesne (my next frontrunner), i'll most likely be declining.

tuition alone is close to $3k more at dickinson.  i also think i'd have a better shot at job placement in western pa out of duquesne.  and to top it off, i'd rather live in pittsburgh than carlisle :)

Thanks. It is not a big deal though. I know my LSAT score sucks, and there is not much I can do about it. At least I have options, for that I am greatful. It may not be the options that I was hoping for, but it is something none the less.

Good luck with Duquense. I am still waiting to hear from them. The admissions people seem extremely nice though!

I am kind of worried also. I have a 2.9 and 155 from this February test. Chiashu says about 40% chance. I hope I get in.

I think if you have a mid 150 you will be fine. They apparently do not care much about GPA's and soft factors. My LSAT score is low, I know that is what my problem was.

Good luck for those still waiting! :)

I'm really sorry shadow.  Was this one of your top choices?  You still have Albany...

Keep your head up!

Wfp,

It is not that it was one of my top choices. I just thought it was a place that I had a chance at, that was other than Vermont, or the AAMPLE program. My first two top choices have Waitlisted me. So... AAMPLE it is for now.

Thanks for the motivation shadowcreeper. Checking the threads whenever I have seen yours, I have always seen a great attitude and always positive, motivating words. I am sure that you will be a truly amazing asset to the school and especially its student body. My saying this isn't news but I wanted to confirm the fact further. Best of luck to you too!  :)
