In at HLS, Hold at USC
« on: March 09, 2005, 02:01:57 PM »
Is this to manipulate their yeild numbers?  It seems odd, especially since they sought me out to get me to apply.  Did anyone else get this?

I just got the letter today.  I don't get it either;  they sought me out, I got a fee waiver and I applied Early Action, which turns out is a crock of sh*t.

Hold, huh?  Screw USC

That really is messed up. But with that Harvard acceptance, why care? :)

Dunno, Bruin . .  spite?  :)  I don't actually care, I'm just amused by it, and a little perturbed at being dicked around -  more by them going back on their 'two week decision' promise then by the hold.  Not only won't I get a decision until April, ut it took them eight weeks to even send the hold.  The only reason I applied was I figured I'd have at least one "yes" by the new year and be able to relax.  Looks like I wasted the 5 minutes it took to fill out their application.

A few friends of mine I suggested calling them up and telling them about HLS to mock them, but I'd rather wait and screw with their yeild. Well, not screw with, but rather make it honest and not manipulated.

I left a note on LSN for you. I would definitly send them a letter about how, since they are so undecided, you will have to "settle" for Harvard.

let us help the haaaarvard "genuises" out with the ways of the real world (meaning: not that show on mtv).

usc wants to climb up in the rankings so they solicit applicants with high lsat scores and correspondingly high egos to apply. knowing full well that most of these applicants will not choose USC over a school like sayyy... harvard - they reject them to bolster their "selectivity" statistics thus crawling one step closer to being the 'haaaarrrvard' that you are so proud to have been "accepted" by.
