Denied at U. Florida
« on: March 01, 2005, 06:00:50 PM »
Didn't really want to go here anyways, but I got my "can't act affirmatively" letter.  I would much rather live in Tampa than Gainesville, but UF was a heck of a lot cheaper.

can't act affirmatively.  That sounds more like a deferral than a rejection.  Is that all it said. Just wondering.

Ok i was just wondering, because I know that they are selecting 100 people to start in spring from the fall applicant pool and thought that you might still be considered for spring

Nope....I applied for fall semester.  I am also out of state, and I know they are restricted to only 20% or so from out of state.  So I imagine that the out of staters prolly have a much higher LSAT score

Yea in the past the out of state applicants have needed higher scores because around 90% or so needed to be from in state.  However this year I believe they changed their policy. On the website it says there are no quotas for out of state. Maybe they are playing the rankings game this year.  Anyways, best of luck at Stetson or wherever you end up.

Don't be a hater ;)

Gator Haters are good peeps ;). I also live in the Tampa area and it is very nice here. And Stetson is a good school. Don't worry about it.
