UNC open house - March 11th
« on: March 01, 2005, 03:12:38 PM »
Anyone going to this?  I have not RSVP'd because it was not clear if I could go.  Now it looks like my schedule is open.  Any details?  Is it all-day?

Thanks.

It is a half day thing.  It starts at 9:30 (registration) and the program consists of attending a mock class, discussion/talk with the Dean of Admissions, discussion with a student panel, tour of the law school.  Dismissal is at 1:00pm.  I'm planning to be there.

I don't imagine that it could hurt to go even if you haven't heard.  It isn't an admitted student day, just an open house.  At least that was the way it was presented to me.

Fireplace--hang in there, I'm sure that UNC will be sending your acceptance shortly.

Grumble, grumble.

At least I live close, so the mail delay should be negligible.

I wonder what % of the class has been admitted so far?

Hard to tell.  I think that LSN shows a very limited part of the pool.

Im sure (based solely on LSN) that it is a smaller percentage.

I got close to calling them yesterday, for a "polite" status inquiry, and to ask WTF is going on. But I figured that they got too many of those calls as is. I mailed back in early October; I just checked my past emails, and they didnt notify me until Nov 30 that I was complete. Either way its been along time.

I'd consider going to the open house, but its too far for me to drive w/o any knowledge of whether im in or not.

Today's mail -- still nothing. I'm in the triangle so mail should hit me the next day. I was hoping that the March 1 deadline = March 2 letter.

Hmm, still waiting.  And after all this patience I hear you, I'm starting to get a little mad. If I haven't heard something pretty soon, I'm going to call.

Ah, someone else got in according to LSN today -- but not me! Ack!

So who has visited UNC so far and what did you think?
