Miami Waitlist vs. Miami Hold List
« on: March 01, 2005, 01:31:01 PM »
Hey I was wondering if anyone was waitlisted at UM. I had received the letter putting me on hold but I dont know if that is the same thing as a waitlist. Any input would be appreciated.

this has been an ongoing debate.  check for other threads.  i'm on hold yet someone with slightly worse numbers got waitlisted.  not sure what the rank is there either.

I am noticing on LSN many deferrals becoming waitlists. I think thats the way it generally works so expect it, I am. HTH.

hell i don't even know what i got.

Code: [Select]
Your application for admission to the University of Miami School of Law has been reviewed and no final decision has been made at this time.  Your credentials qualify you to be placed in a hold category and your application will be reconsidered prior to April 30,2005.
i put it under 'waitlist' on my lsn profile.

One point - yours means that if me and a bunch of other people don't get our deposites in by April 15th, your app. will be waiting for review (as if rolling admissions is still going on).  Once they decide yea or nay to the holds, if they have any leftover spots they will go to the waitlist.

so just to be sure here...

if i am on "hold" then i technically should have a better chance then a WL?

i'm an idiot.  i think i may have mentioned that i watched Cutting Edge in another thread.  If anyone else sees this, please disregard.  Work is boring me to death.
