I'm no girl.  I like targus.

I'm a girl... and I have a targus backpack. I could care less about how nice my laptop bag looks, as long as its functional and easy to carry.

Purses, on the other hand... I'm all about Coach.

For those of you who are now in school and dragging your stuff around, please comment on what bag you got, how well it works, how often you use it, etc.

Thanks!

I'm not in school but I do drag around a lot of crap (and a laptop) for work.  I bought one of these http://www.crumplerbags.com/home.php when I bought my laptop and I love it with all my heart.  I have the "crisp suit" which it doesn't look like they make anymore... sad.  But it's huge and padded and messenger style and sits across my body fairly comfortably.  I definitely recommend the brand, in any case.

I have the Ruckus laptop backpack by Pacific Designs in grey and pink.  It has a REALLY good padded compartment for my laptop and fits my 15.4 inch with no problems.  It is also extremely comfortable even when carrying a heavy laptop.  Check it out.

I bought a large tote from Coach last summer and I have used that to carry around my powerbook for my last year of undergrad. My mac fits in really well and ofcourse it's Coach so it's cute. I might try and buy a bigger one once I start as a 1L so I have more room to carry other things.

BUY A BACKPACK!!! I was once in your shoes, planning on carrying around a cute little bag and ignoring the advice of those who had gone before.  All that changed once I bought my books.  Those casebooks are no joke!  Do yourself and your back a favor and get a quality backpack.
