Hey, I'm a black URM at HYP with a 3.57 GPA. On the June LSAT, I scored a 159 and on this most recent one in October, a 163. Softs aside, what are my odds for getting into Harvard and Columbia specifically? Do you think they'll weigh the higher score more heavily or average the two?

Slim chance at Harvard; OK chance at CCN.  I don't think they average anymore.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post. I would like to say thanks to everyone on this board, especially this thread, as it has been a very useful resource. Well here are my stats:

Black Male
3.21 GPA in Pol Sci (pub policy focus/comm minor) from school in dc GWU/GT
165 LSAT (Oct)

Softs:
Capitol Hill Experience (1.5 years to the present)
AmeriCorps Alum (taught 2nd graders for a year in DC)
Part time job throughout college(i.e. CVS)
Membership in a lot of clubs, though not on exec boards

Target CCN, apply to the t14.

Dear Council, I must come to the experts on this one.

My boy's wife just took the October and even though she was hitting the mid to upper 150's (even into the 160's) on the practice exams, she got the bad news that she only got a 146 on this one.  She had to take on 2 jobs a few weeks out from the LSAT and admits her studies and practice scores suffered as a result.

She graduated from a large state school.  3.0 GPA.  Communications major, Work experience, blah blah blah.

She's looking to stay here (NY metro area) So I have 2 questions really:

Question 1. Given a 3.0 and a 146 which schools could she land on the following list of NY area law schools:

NYU
Columbia
Fordham
Cardozo
Rutgers
Brooklyn
Seton Hall
St. John's
NYLS
Hofstra
Pace
CUNY
Touro

(I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume NYU and Columbia off the market)

Question 2.  Assuming she can devote the necessary time, should she just say @#!* the 146 and retake in December?   And if so, what are the rules nowadays for multiple LSAT scores?

Thanks for any input.

If she thinks she can do better, I'd advise her to retake.  I think she'd be borderline at most ABA-accredited schools.  From what I gather, most schools take the higher score now, since the ABA doesn't require them to average.

I need help guys. I just got my LSAT score it was a disappointing 158,..3.19 GPA,...black male,.....work experience,...charity.

I can't take the LSAT again because of family and work so this is what i'll go with. Where should I apply? Do I have an outside shot at T-14? I'm really disappointed but will probably have to settle for a less prestigious school.

Ok, this is kinda scary.

3.65/168 black female (but not US citizen)

My GPA is international and is top 20% of Oxford in prestigious major. (Does that help?)

Good internships - 2 years WE when I apply. Will have good recs and ECs.

Scored well below my practice average and defo an Oct retake.

Need you to tell me straight; even if I retake and score a 180, is Harvard completely off the table?

Please manage my expectations because until last week it was my secret dream.

Hi guys, just adding to my previous question. Retook to a 175. Feeling really good. Will HYSCCN take the highest?

Not sure my recommenders are on the ball either. Lets say I go with ok recs and ok ECs and get in by beginning of Nov and complete by mid Nov/end of Nov.

Chances at Harvard?

Hi all,

I'm a little disappointed by my LSAT score, and I think I might retake in Dec.

I have a 3.56 GPA with a 155 LSAT.  Where should I apply/where should I reasonably expect to get in?

Do I have any chance at Emory, UNC, W&M, American, BC, etc?  Should I go lower?  I'm really unsure about where to apply...any help?
