i think that a lower tier 1 is doable (if you get that 165), but definitely look into some tier 2 schools.

With a 160 and 2.94 a school above 42-ish is outta reach? If so, I'm just gonna mentally prepare myself now.

160 and 2.94

With those numbers, you can get into a top 20.  My first cycle I had a 3.0/159, and I got into WUSTL with money.  I also got into Fordham.  So you'd definitely get into a top 30 at least.  You might even sneak into a t-14.  I got waitlists at UVA and Michigan with my above numbers.

IMO, if you don't get into a t-14 or significant money at a 15-30, you might be better off taking a full ride at Howard.  Seriously.

oh yea, i 4got about the bolded.

however, law school admissions tend to be harder during tough economic times, so i'm thinking this year may be harder than it was for you 2 cycles ago.

Just looking for a little advice on my numbers.

3.74 UG GPA at UF (2.5 years of which I was in chemical engineering).  Switched to political science and graduated the next semester.

Not quite sure about my LSAT score.  I've tested as high as 170 (once), but normally found myself in the 167 range.  I will hopefully receive the score tomorrow and then a better assessment can be made.

I feel like my softs are pretty good:

1.  Congressional internship
2.  Intern for a Navy lawyer (JAG)
3. Going to Vietnam for seven months to teach English
4.  Worked throughout college.

I'm a middle class white male.  Thanks for any advice.

I think Georgetown and Duke should be on your list.
