Pllease help me with predictions

I'm starting to get worried, my huge LSAT split, I feel, has been the factor looming in the background and hurting substantially the strength of my applications. However I always had this feeling that even with the split, scoring a 166 with a 3.6 GPA from an Ivy would at least enable me to get into a top 30 school. This feeling seems to have been misguided. As the rejections, waitlist notifications and deferrals seem to be pouring in from the schools I thought I had competitive shots at: i.e. Cardozo, George Mason, Boston College, Fordham.

I'm curious, from experience, what you guys think my chances might be at getting into the remaining schools I'm still waiting to hear from. I'd love some predictions.

Yeah, the WL/deferrals from dozo, BC and Fordham seem odd...  I would chalk Fordham and dozo up to yield protection, but BC just seems out of place.

You say you have an LSAT split... is 166 your average score?

No the average is 161, 156-166 was the split.

Have you heard from any schools which just look at the higher LSAT? Other than cornell, what other schools on your list only look at the higher LSAT?

I think you have a really good shot at GMU. Though it doesn't take the higher LSAT, a second score above a 165 seems to be the magic number (talked to Dean Richards in person about this). Personally, I think you will get in at Cornell. It takes the higher LSAT and seems to a bit of emphasis on undergraduate and major (I have a feeling they have a bit of experience with your undergrad and might give you an extra star ). I am surprised at your Cardoza WL but I think a future acceptance at Cornell would wipe that memory away  Good Luck!

Thanks Midijeep... unfortunately just got my Ding from GMU Friday, guess 165 wasn't the magic number for me =(. Although a Cornell acceptance would be great, another 3 years in Ithaca isn't the best prospect I could imagine. I'm really looking for a change of environment (and weather!).

JGunnz, I'm pretty sure you could have gotten into a top20 school. My stats and school type are very similar to yours and I got into Vanderbilt and Minnesota.

It seems that some schools have averaged your scores. It's hard to predict. Perhaps Cinderella's story will happen to you.

Btw I seriously doubt that Cornell looks at the higher score only. They say that but it's not true.
