As far as
Iowa
goes, I got a congratulatory email from the dean a few days before I got the letter in the mail. Then I got a follow-up call about a week later from a student.

Vanderbilt
No email, yes snail mail, no phone call (so far)
They did send a "complete" email, which was nice.

Starresky: You rock for making that chart!
You should also put in there that Harvard sends a packet with just informational materials (in a large envelope) after they get your app.
When I received it, I freaked until I opened the envelope. I am pissed that they would send the envelope during admission season. It really was a letdown.

Does anybody who's gotten in at Hastings want to tell me what the envelope looks like?
OP, what a damned useful table. I'd love to see one for rejection letters as well.
