if your school isn't UofT or Mcgill ... they will have never heard of it.  There really isn't the "index" thing you speak of though ... I'm not really sure of your question actually ...

I think I read in some other post on this board that many law schools will consider an Undergrad class average GPA of greater than 3.2ish meaning that your school inflates GPA's. So maybe they would take that into consideration.

Otherwise, the law schools can look at how well the average test takers from your undergrad performed on the LSAT as another marker of how good your school is. So i heard something like if test takers from your school averaged 157 or more, then it was considered a competitive school.

I could be talking garbage, but hope this helps.

have you registrared for LSAC?  if so ... when you send them your transcripts, it will show up on your academic report.

I'll probably be very low for a canadian school.  UofT's is ridiculously low ... like 155 ... and windsors is below 150.  Not sure about anyother schools.  It'll also have the average GPA for your school.  UofT's is 2.98 ... hope this helps.

How do they get these numbers?  UWO discloses their average admission LSAT at 159 and average admission GPA at 3.7.  What am I missing here?

LSAC complies the data ... when people right their LSAT and send them their transcripts ...

EDIT:  we're talking about for people who have applied to law school; not a school's admitted class though right.

Oh, ok, that makes a hell of a lot more sense.
