UNC told me they would take people off the waitlist as late as the first day of orientation....

Some schools will take people off as late as the last day of orientation. They're usually waiting to see if anyone drops out.

Werbz,

Sorry to hear about the ding. If you do have to reapply again, just know that everyone I know who did, my self included, had much better luck the second time around. Knowing how the system works really helps next year.

Thx Matthies. It's just a matter of when, where, and whether or not to take the LSAT again at this point.

I highly recommend taking the LSAT again, especially if you think you can do better by doing something differently.  I know that the LSAT is not a good indicator for everyone, why else would it have the predictor rate of .5 instead of 1?  However, the reality is that they use it because they don't have anything else.  Show them that you can play their game, then, don't make excuses for the lower score! Form a solid argument for why they should use the higher score.  That's what I did, and I received positive results even applying late January.

Just don't apply late the second time around like I did or your luck would not be much better.  :-[

Nothing for me today either -- was told they send my letter late last week. Should've been here by now but I'll give them tomorrow's mail call then I'll phone (again).

I think my plan is to retake at this point. Blah.

Don't worry. Good news will come. Having hope is good. After my phone call last week and with the approaching second deposit deadline, I'm now rather nervous. It's just too easy to be cut adrift.

I got put on the waitlist at Case... I'm happy that the cycle wasn't a complete rejection-fest, but you know, not too happy as you can imagine.

Now I have to decide whether to try to take out a private loan--can you even do that if you are not 'accepted' I wonder?

I'm also curious how late they take people off the waitlist.
