It’s been fun. I’ve been on this site for nearly a year, and the DOWNYness was usually excellent.

However, lately the rampant trolling, constant DOWNY imitators, and constant threatening PMs have grown tiresome.

Plus, I have other obligations that I need to take care of.

To those of you who think you pushed me off the site and will be celebrating, that’s fine. Basically the time has come when I just don’t have the time to deal with you anymore.

Can someone please tell me, since I'm relatively new to LSD, what the Downy phenomenon is all about?

I seem to recall a lot of flaming posts by? about? Downy, but I was always arriving mid-argument, so I would appreciate a brief synopsis.

Downy played the role of rule-breaking smartass so that all the straight-laced whitebread LSDers could giggle and shudder appropriately in their safe and rich little worlds.

He was the person they all wanted to be.
