Are all Michigan classes this cramped? This room seems poorly designed.

The NYU pic won't load, but I don't really see why you think that the Mich classrooms are so cramped.  Every law classroom I have ever been in seemed to look a lot like that.  If NYU is significantly different, you can probably write it off an an anomaly attributable to their unusually deep pockets.
