I just heard back from the Admissions supervisor at UW.  She said that they are still opening applications but that it looks like the total number of applications will be close to the same as last year (2400).  Possibly a little less, possibly a little more.

That's good news..the year before the last one they had 2700, but still admitted about 500 people. Here's to hoping...
