University of Houston--anyone heard anything recently??
« on: January 19, 2005, 09:33:37 AM »
I applied mid-November and the status check just changed to "File in Review--decisions will be available by mid-February."  What does this mean??

I think it means they're behind in reveiwing applications.   My status changed from complete to "File in Review - Decision available by late January" on 12/22/04, and then changed from that to "File in Review - Decision by February" yesterday.  I'm guessing/hoping that "late January" means this week and "by February" means next week; provided, of course, that I don't get bumped to mid-Feb on Friday.  :)

Well I am glad I am not the only one. I am in a weird situation because I have two different LSAT scores and (although Houston states that it will take the higher LSAT) I figure that they can amend that policy for each individual. My average would make me an iffy canidate while my high score should make me competative. I hope the Feb extension just means we they are swapped and not simply using my application as a dart board to see if I am in or out.

Mine still says File Complete.  I applied late December, so I know I am probably in for a long wait.  How long does it usually take them to send it to the admissions committee?
GPA: 4.00 (DGS); 2.50 (LSAC) - don't ask!
LSAT: 161
Accepted: OCU, South TX
Deferred:  SMU
Pending:  UofH, Georgetown (what the hell), Harvard (what the hell again!)
Rejected:  Not yet

We are all EA, so I have no idea. Regular Admissions is a totally different ballgame.

I studied in the law library at UH all through undergrad. Loved it. The building is COVERED with horny crickets in the spring.

I've been back recently. They remodeled everything. Looks beautiful. The main UG library has also undergone extensive remodeling and is quite a site. In general, i think the campus is beautiful.
