Has anyone visited UCONN?
« on: January 17, 2005, 02:09:52 PM »
I grew up in CT (Southington) but never visited the law school. Any thoughts from those who have been there? I have heard that it is rediculously beautiful. I just want to hear any impressions that it may have left on anyone.

It is a really impressive campus - great buildings and trees.  A charming historic neighborhood buffers the campus from the main street through the area and the rest of Hartford.  I went, not on an official visit, but just to take a quick look around, as I was passing through.  I only went into the library, which felt very large, modern and up-to-date, but was housed in a beautiful neo-Gothic building the school built to match the rest of the campus.  The whole place just seemed like a great learning environment - very serene.

Awesome campus. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the open house in November.

They use a B grading curve. They expect around 3000 apps for 200 slots. 1/3 of the slots are for evening division. You can transfer between divisions after 1 year.

They also claim to get a lot of OCI from CT firms.

Nice campus atmosphere. I like that it is separated from the UConn undergrad campus (law school is in West Hartford, while UG is in Storrs).

Now I'm just waiting for their decision...

Check out the LSN link in my signature. I'm thinking that I SHOULD get into UCONN but it is a very wacky business this law school application process.
