Okay, what about we end A.A.  But replace it the next day with a comprehensive REPERATIONS plan.  Who is going to pay?  All of the companies that benefited from free slave labor (imagine, no wages, no benefits, no nothing....pretty sweet deal).  So those companies that benefited by 1) having direct non-wage paying employees..hahah that's a funny way to put it or 2) by purchasing goods and services from other companies at depressed prices due to the benefits of free labor.  There is a long list of such companies with sufficient records available.  The reperation money would be put into a managed fund, and used for the issues that affect the black community like health care and education and try to get a somewhat level field in these areas.  Good, it's settled.

Except AA doesn't just affect blacks. You wouldn't know it, though, by the tone of these threads.  :P So we'd have to extend this reparations plans for those companies who have in the past and continue in the present to benefit from racially discriminatory practices. The results would be even more far-reaching.

EDIT: Oops. Just saw goodadvice's post. Disregard.

"these people"?  that usually the sign of the cracker!

julie's post not even about aa, but, rather, discrimination in general.  crackers usually want to avoid such discussion, because they prefer to focus on whatever few situations in which they allegedly the victims.

ok.. im trying to find government programs to cover the cost of reparations.

so far the B2 bombers cost 2 billion dollars each with roughly 20 in service.  that makes $40000000000.00

there's roughly 36 million african americans which is a paultry $1111.00 per person.  Somehow im trying to come up with another 200k per person, which is on the low side.  lifetime earnings low, lumpsum maybe.  anyone know cheney's haliburton pension fund size?  i think this might cover it.

Nice assumption. About what I might expect from someone with a 3rd grade mind.  What are you implying by calling me a "cracker?"

I think Biting Panther was only half-serious, but ...

"The National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations (NíCOBRA), a pressure group with dozens of chapters across the country, has set the reparations price tag at $8 trillion ó to be paid out not only in direct transfers of wealth, but also in radical changes to our legal system and culture intended to redress supposed structural "inequities" in our society."

Good job, but that $40 bil will still go a long way, don't worry.  Invested at 15% over 35 years works out to over 5.3 trillion.  It would be like an ongoing endowment fund.
