should I ask schools about application status?

Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of you have tried to contact the admissions staff of some of the schools you really want to go to, and asked about the status of your applications?

i know a lot of people that do this.  Most schools are really helpful and will tell you whatever you want to know, so don't worry about calling.
