I'd get CO's for every class (personally, I like Gilbert), and get the E&E's for every class except Property (and maybe K's).

What would you recommend for Contracts if not E&E? Do any other 1L's agree?

I have the Torts E&E. After I finish reading it, I was going to get the Contracts one. I'll be PT this Fall, and the only courses I have for the Fall semester are Torts, Contracts and legal writing.

Thanks.

After a year long struggle to find a good supplement for K's, I decided to just use the Gilbert CO. My prof. recommended the Calamari & Perillo hornbook - it is one of those green hornbooks put out by West...think 'Prosser & Keeton on Torts'. These books are *not* useful for students. They are written in a scholarly language and take a *very* long time to read (and they're boring as hell).

For hornbook reading for K's, I recommend Chrielstein's "Concepts and Case Analysis in the Law of Contracts". It is a little blue book put out by Foundaion Press. They have one for torts, written by Kenneth Abraham (from UVA) called "The Forms and Functions of Tort Law". Both are excellent. They are small and interesting - good subway reading. They don't cover all the BLL, but really focus on the goals/policy...one you understand that, the rules are practically obvious.

A lot of these 1L comments seem to be coming from people who were uninterested and disengaged in UG.  The "socratic method" sounds just like what good students/profs did in ug classes -- ask students hypothetical questions, situations, and probing questions and get a thoughtful response.  Anyone who isn't used to such exchanges wasn't awake in college.

you're a f-ing idiot for assuming this.  HTH

Hey, I'm not going to be the one having a tough time not failing out of a TTT.  these posts just confirm my belief that the type of person who goes to LS is the beer-drinkin' good ole' boy (or sororstitute) who though the purpose of undergrad was to find the easiest way to get the highest grade while learning the least.

If you have a genuine interest in your classes and the material you are studying, you won't have a problem.  It's when you look at it all like a chore and treat it like some fvcking manufactured education that you're in trouble.
