Attention DC Residents: Inauguration
« on: January 07, 2005, 10:09:20 AM »
I know this is WAAAY off topic, but I know that there are a number of people on this board from the DC area.
Well I really had two things to ask:

1) Anyone know how to get or have an extra ticket to the inauguration? I actually like Bush (yes I know, **boo hiss comments, explative, explative ** please don't berate me ;) oh and if you are reading this Pookie, please don't hate me, it's this damn Texas pride) especially since I am from his hometown (well at least Laura's) and will probably the only time I get to go to an event like this. Basically I will happily take a ticket off anyone's hand who really hates Bush and doesn't plan on using the ticket to assasinate Bush.

2) If not, how bad is communting around all the activities? I live a few blocks from the Capitol and work in Georgetown, plus I go to work later 9:30AM and will probably be traveling during the massive rush of people heading towards the Capitol.

The Internet is for porn and Lexis points.

You can get a ticket to the inaguration by going to your congressman's office and asking for one.  Call first to confirm that they have some for constituents.

Commuting from your location will probably be hellish.

Thanks for the link, my law firm just sent us an email telling us that Thursday is not a holiday ;). I am trying to get a ticket soon so I can tell my boss I need it off.
