False Hope?
« on: January 03, 2005, 05:39:52 PM »
I emailed all my schools telling them that an extra LOR was lost by LSAC and that I was resending it to LSAC and to the school directly. One of my schools emailed me back thanking me for the update and said it would update my file. A few hours later I received another email telling me that they were very impressed with my file and told me I had a better shot at their Summer term (which I intended on applying but missed the deadline by 5 days) and asked me if I wanted to be considered. Well, needless to say I nearly crapped myself and responded within two minutes of the email with a responding YES...hope I didn't sound too desperate. Should I be happy that I might have a shot at law school or is the school just trying to up its acceptance yield for the summer term? Ugh, this will officially be the FIFTH time I applied to this school...I at least deserve a "SUCKER" bumpersticker.

Well, it MIGHT be the case that the school is also trying to up its acceptance yield for the summer term, but they would never lie to you about you having a better shot for the summer session if they go out of their way to ask you if you want to be considered for it. So, yes, you should be happy. ;D Good luck!

This is obviously good news.  The fee waiver I got from Columbia... THAT was a ploy to improve yield numbers.  You getting a message that you would be an excellent candidate for a specific program is great news.  They want you.

Maybe they were just impressed that I applied to them so many times ;)

I got a reply saying that I will find out within a week or so...at least I know I am getting mail (which is good news regardless since I haven't received any mail, including junk mail, in the past 2 weeks). Well I am off to the gym...I am so speedy I could probably run back to Texas.

I know you get this all the time, but that is the single greatest avatar in history.  I get a kick out of it each and every time.

Good luck, are you referring to Baylor?

They are the only school I've seen in Texas with summer admission for first year students.

It's what keeps me from jumping out of my building each day ;) In case I do get into a law school, I might have to retire that avatar....I will probably conduct a poll before I do anything too drastic.

Oh and for additional humor, try saving the avatar as your background and set it to "tile." It kept me amused for a few hours ;)
