Where will I be accepted?

I am hoping that someone can lend some insight into my chances for admission.  First, a bit about me:

I'm a 30 year old white male decided to pursue the law degree that I decided not to pursue after a very mediocre undergrad track record (3.0 GPA, 2.8 LSDAS adjusted?, University of Florida).  I have a very solid resume that includes the sales and management of multi-million dollar projects and management of staff in various businesses with significant legal exposure.  Currently, I am launching a new division of a property/facilities management organization.

In terms of LSAT, I got a 153 in October, which was far below my diagnostic tests.  I retook the test in December and received a 163.  My recommendations are all non-academic from senior level executives that I have either done business with or have worked for.

My objective is practice law in either New York, Florida, or Washington, DC.  Any help that anyone can lend into where they think I may be accepted or rejected will be greatly appreciated.

It helps to put down schools that you are considering

If you're applying to tier 1 schools, and your dream is Yale, then no, you will not be accepted.

But if you're applying to tier 3 and 4 schools, then you will most definitely have a shot.

We're not here to do your research for you.  Most people don't have the time or the patience to go through all the resources available and give you a list of schools.

However, if you give us a list of where you're thinking of applying, then people are generally nice and will give you opinions of whether they think you have good odds and will often offer suggestions of other schools to apply to that you haven't already thought of.

Please don't be that naive or lazy.  This is a community that helps others, but we're not here to do your work for you.

I'm not looking for anyone to do my work for me.  I thought by stating NY, DC and Florida, it would be inferred that I was looking at Fordham, Cordoza, Brooklyn, St. John's, American, GW, Miami, UF, Nova, etc without making a long post any longer.  I appreciate your response, and apologize if it appeared that I was being lazy.

I think what ssd2612 is really looking for is a diamond in the rough type school. When I ask for opinions regarding chances and what schools I should look at, I am seeking a) schools where someone with my stats got in (agaisnt the odds) and b) schools that I never really considered or even heard of. It is really hard to cut through all the bull that each law school gives you regarding its school. You are never going to see a school say anything bad about itself on its website or brochure. Heck, even Cornell says it is located in an awesome location (I wouldn't mind it, I am used to small towns) and Cooley ranks itself above Stanford. If anything, I think people just want some rhetoric regarding an area, a school, or a program. Being vague helps one value a response more because the response regarding a school wasn't addressing a framed question or trying to placate a desired reaction on part of the person. But I do agree that it gets annoying when random people get on here, ask a question they can easily look up, and then fade into the abyss. I just don't think ssd2612 was looking for that.

Unfortunately, we can't make those inferences.  There are actually many, many more schools in those areas than the ones you listed, and even more schools that, although not geographically in the areas where you would like to practice, can still get you into a great job there (i.e. Stanford, Northwestern).  So you really do need to list exactly which schools you're thinking of applying to.

In any case, my guess as far as the schools you listed (don't know about the FL schools though):

Auto-ding: GW
Probable reject: Fordham, Cardozo (not "Cordoza"),
Decent Shot: Brooklyn, St. John's, American

Given your stats, you may want to apply to the following schools as well:

NY:  Hofstra, NYLS, CUNY Queens
DC:  U. MD, Catholic, George Mason

The list is bigger if you're willing to go to school outside of those immediate metropolitan areas.

I appreciate it Midjeep.  I'm a bit new to this whole chatboard thing.  You were quite correct in that I am looking for anything that people know about trends at certain schools that fall outside of the straight numbers game which is found in any book at Barnes & Noble.

Never been, but people here keep talking about its suicide rate being attributed to the town and how it's really isolated. I have even read posts about how they would love to go to Cornell except for the Ithaca factor. But like I said before, I wouldn't mind....heck, I went to school in Waco, Texas for four years and I am still alive!
