I am editing my post.  I apologize for suggesting that maybe there are certain things and experiences all people who are different have in common.  Since it's clearly not PC to say and I'm only pissing people off by suggesting it, I won't say it.  Doesn't make it less true, but whatever will bring about some level of peace.

woah zap! I'm not sure what got you so riled up. You said something. I said "yeah, but ..." and took a slightly different angle on what you said. It's just a conversation man. Both sides discussing stuff. I really didn't say anything with the intent of being condescending to you. I was just trying to further the discussion with a point of view a little different from yours.

I don't hear anybody saying "you're not PC. shut up zap". I certainly wasn't.

I thought 'jap' was simply short for japanese, and became popular during WWII among american soldiers. But apparently it's an abbreviationg for something else?
