I am editing my post.  I apologize for suggesting that maybe there are certain things and experiences all people who are different have in common.  Since it's clearly not PC to say and I'm only pissing people off by suggesting it, I won't say it.  Doesn't make it less true, but whatever will bring about some level of peace.

That said, I'm not some kid from the burbs trying to be hip to the hood.  Please give me a little more credit.

ZAP

I was teasing you, but I forgot my emoticon.

BAP?

(I've been trying to figure it out, but had to ask.)

 :-* to maricutie.

and you know what offends me, zap?  that you have 5 stars, and i only have 4.  :(  at least mine are blue.  that makes it easy to find my own posts in a thread.

And your point, other than to talk down to and patronize me was? ???

Didn't mean to "talk down" or patronize you. sorry. just meant to talk about stuff related to what you said. just talking.

I've always wondered that myself.  BAP and JAP are the only ones I've heard of...which one came first the chicken or the egg?

woah zap! I'm not sure what got you so riled up. You said something. I said "yeah, but ..." and took a slightly different angle on what you said. It's just a conversation man. Both sides discussing stuff. I really didn't say anything with the intent of being condescending to you. I was just trying to further the discussion with a point of view a little different from yours.

I don't hear anybody saying "you're not PC. shut up zap". I certainly wasn't.

I thought 'jap' was simply short for japanese, and became popular during WWII among american soldiers. But apparently it's an abbreviationg for something else?
