Is 166 a bad score for T14 shcools?

About the earlier comment about the time of application.  I thought mine was early.  I sent all in by November 1st at the latest.  Right after I got my less than steller LSAT score and renounced standardized testing.  I have only heard back from one (my safety).  I wish I could hold these schools liable for the extreme anxiety they cause.  And for whatever the comments about the the phobia of sitting next to someone who might not be the brightest crayon in the box as defined by the LSAC is worth I can kind of agree with it to a certain extent.  I worked my butt off to know something of substance and know it well when I graduate.  I just really hope I end up somewhere that has students that can make contributions other than reciting by heart their parents' credit card numbers (no offense to anyone who can do that).

I'm intrigued... what do you mean by risky?  Was it like, "You need me, you f_ckers, so send me an accepance letter before Yale does."  Now THAT would be pretty risky, and this 166 would be honored to set next to you at Widener next fall.

reading people's responses here it seems like the lsat counts for more than gpa. the 166 has eclipsed the very high gpa...do you guys think this is the case? 166 is like 95 percentile...is the lsat weighted that heavily that not being in the top 1 or 2 % is so bad?

I think a previous poster said it best: if you're looking at the top 14 schools a 166 won't kill your application. The bottom 14 still are a very real possibility, assuming your gpa is around a 3.6ish. The 4-10 schools might be harder, but a 166 still wont kill you. Here you'd have to bring a really good gpa, or some decent ECs, WE, etc. The top 3 or 4 probably become a reach with that score, even with a 4.0ish gpa, ECs and WEs.

that having been said, the lsat is approx 50% of the application; more or less depending on the school. some schools are notorious for being GPA-heavy, and others for being LSAt whores.

When did a 166 become a horror story!  A 166 is a great score, that's what I'm aiming for in February.
