What does everyone think about a person's chances of admission after being placed on the waitlist?  what goes into the waitlist decision?  why weren't we just rejected if we probably wont get in off the waitlist?  do you think sending in application updates makes any difference in terms of distinguishing yourself and getting in off the waitlist?  do you all think it is easier and more realistic to get in off the waitlist at a lower ranked school than a higher ranked school bc lower ranked schools have lower yield rates which opens up more seats at the school?
