What kind of rackets do these law school got going? Paying for student airfares to visit their schools?
I was wondering what the protocol is for an acceptance phone call. What I mean is, I am unsure of what to say to a school that calls telling me that I am accepted when I remain relatively unsure whether or not I will go there. I imagine it being something like the following:"Hello is Lord Byron there?""Speaking.""Hi, this is Dean Doe from John Doe University. I want to congratulate you on your acceptance to our law school.""Thank you""...."(awkward silence)"Uh, ok, then congratulations again and, uh, good luck""Bye."Is this how it is really?
"we know you're probably still waiting for other offers, so we're not going to ask for an answer now, but we hope you consider us. admit day is april 1, and we'll pay for your airfare to visit."
this is how mine was with GMU... everything was going smoothly until she mentioned that she really hoped she could convince me to attend... there was an awkward silence for a few seconds... then she proceeded to tell me a packet would be sent, etc, etc...the rest went fine.. i just wasnt prepared to start talking about attending, and the call caught me a little off guard...
I thought they eliminiated admitted vs. enrolled out but selectivity is still in there.
