Interview!! Help!!
« on: December 15, 2004, 10:51:51 AM »
I have an interview at Pace on January 3rd, and I want to make the most of it. First of all, my LSAT score is below the school's 25%, so I figure that I should address that. I am also very interested in Pace because of their Environmental Law program that includes animal electives, so I am sure I should elaborate on that.

Anything else I should mention? What kind of questions will they ask? I usually interview really well, but I am still nervous. Help!! :(

Don't focus on the negatives. Don't mention the LSAT unless they ask. If you have to mention a negative, try to follow up with a positive. "Yes, my LSAT score is lower than your 25% level but..."

DO focus on what you bring to the equation...relevant experience, maturity, committment to the education and beyond, etc., etc.

Most of this is off the top of my head, since I've only done job interviewing...but I'd treat it like that. Focus on why you're a worthy candidate and how they need you.

lol!!
I wish! I actually noticed that I left out the word 'law' out, but I didn't bother to fix it. I work for an animal rights group and want to eventually go into animal law--if I can get into school!!

Ever hear the saying -- good fences make good neighbors?

BTW, what's a 1E?

I am not qualified to give legal advice. However, just having my brain removed by a torts final, I'd say that the dog owner is probably being negligent, and creating a nuisance on your pooperty -- I mean, property. It's probably a small claims kinda thing. You have to be able to show actual damages, generally, for a negligence claim. (Cost of cleanup, cost of whatever -- unelss you can figure out a way for them to pay for fence.) That's just off the top of my head...I haven't watched People's Court in a while.
