i've recently notice a couple posters with the standard GPA/LSAT below their avatar, though some of them are now including "non-URM" as well. Additionally, when people are posting their admits, invariably someone asks if they are a URM.

It makes it clearer for the rest of the board. URM is a huge factor in admissions and it's good to get it out of the way before anyone discusses chances or why they may have been accepted or denied.

I agree with akudiya. I've heard that URMs are really looked at separate from the rest of the applicant pool, and usually in comparison to other URMs. However, there are some ppl who may not be technical URMs (Ruskie's case comes to mind) who would probably still benefit from the URM-factor.
