I guess I'm a little behind as well ... but just got my acceptance letter in the mail today. Not to complain (really, I'm grateful and humbled beyond belief), it would have been nice if it had come BEFORE the standford one.  :P

But a big CONGRATS to all the acceptees!!!

wasn't NYU supposed to mail out EA notices by Dec. 10th? Has anyone received a defferal or hold notification? (I am crossing my fingers that they didn't consider me a straight reject)

First off, you are not an instant reject with those stats.  Second,  according to this link:
http://www.law.nyu.edu/depts/admissions/info/jd/when.html
Under the heading:
Early Action
File and complete application by October 15
Notification by mid-to-late December
So, it may be another 2 weeks of fun.

The letter is dated 12/16, 3.69/177.

Congrats Amanda,

Already staying there, the rent jump for an apartment to fit Tiny Tim is not a WOW for you.
My question is $2500-$2800 for a 600 to 800 NYU Mercer Hall really subsidized like they say (rhetorical question) Dang, rent is expensive for a school that I have high on the radar because of their academic options, clinicals, and propensity to give more money in merit aid than those above it, but they get it back in rent LOL!

 ;D

600 to 800 was approx sq. footage at Mercer Residences for renting an entire two or three bedroom apartment for family housing

Yeah, rent in NYC (even "subsidized") can definitely be a killer - luckily, after living here for a long time, I managed to stumble into a good deal with my current apt., but those can be hard to find.  My suggestion, if you're not dead set on living on campus and don't mind a little bit of commuting time, would be to check out Brooklyn/Queens or even NJ, where you'll have a better chance of getting a decent amount of space for a less insane amount of money.

In at NYU today.  Happy, although I am pretty certain I won't be going there...anybody on the waitlist want my spot?
