2 LOR's okay? Or wait for 3rd?

I have everything in and processed with LSAC but my problem is I currently only have 2 LOR's. 

A third one was promised to me by my professor but she has yet to complete it because she has been very busy with school and has a baby due in a month.

I feel rude pushing her and do not want to scare her away but she is the only professor I'm still in touch with (I graduated last year) and I want to just get my apps in already.

1) Should I / how long should I wait for her?

2) How bad is sending in only 2 LORs?

note: I am shooting for Chicago schools - Loyola, DePaul, Kent, John Marshall.

       LSAC GPA: 2.96
       LSAT :    154

I would kinda think 2 is fine... Then you can always use the 3rd for any waitlist or "take another look at me" situations... what's everyone else think?

BTW:  I think it will be a very good LOR.

99% of the time letters of rec don't mean *&^%. Unless it's from the president it doesn't matter- what jerkoff can't get some prof to write a letter? Adcoms don't care about this *&^%.

Downy is mostly correct, but THalky's advice is perfect. 

Get your apps in now and use the 3rd letter where it can make a difference.

does anyone know what happens when the law school requests your lsac file and get it with 2 LOR's....then after they already have your app LSAC receives LOR #3? i think this is gonna happen to a lot of us who are waiting on that 3rd LOR and are applying around now. thanks!

You can input information about the expected letter into the LSAC system and instruct that they be sent to the schools to which you apply.  When the letters come in, LSAC will match them to your preassignments and then send updates to the relevant schools.  I hope this makes sense.

Two recommendations is enough for most schools- except for Univ. of New Mexico. They require three.

are there schools that PREFER 2 LOR's to 3? i think Harvard does, but im not sure. does anyone know?

I applied with no LORs on file. They get sent to the schools in an updated report. Does that really matter?

That is fine. Your file will not be looked at until the LOR's are recieved, but there is no problem/disadvantage with your application being sent before LOR's.
