How far down?
« on: December 06, 2004, 08:56:22 PM »
I want to go to a school that is very challenging but not utterly cut-throat (in terms of student-student competition)...How far do you have to go down from the top to achieve this?
I will be a Nittany Lion turned Pitt Panther for 1L 2005.

I think that each school has to be looked at individually, Baylor is, I think #50, and it's supposed to be the most competitive school

From what I have heard on the subject, you want the other way around. Typically, lower ranked schools are more cut-throat than higher ranked schools, as class rank does not matter as much in higher ranked schools as for lower ranked schools. Of course some schools may be different in this regard.
