I think that there should be an affirmative action board, where people discuss affirmative action.  It is sort of annoying when all of the what are my chances posts turn into affirmative action discussions.  Its the topic we love to hate, but I think giving it its own board would minimize the conflict over the topic.  Those that want to discuss would go to that board.  Those that don't want to discuss aren't sucked in by other topics.

Yes.  I thought I posted this, but maybe it got lost somehow. The very fact that you are putting it in the minority board, when a lot of the people that discuss AA are not minorities is a bit offensive.  Then, that way the people don't have to look for the AA board, if they don't make the assumption that many people make that AA is a "minority topic." Obviously, its not, if many of the people discussing it are not minorities. Just a different angle on this issue that you may not have considered, but others have. Thanks.

RE:  AA Board

I don't personally care about adding an AA Board, but I'd agree that the minority board isn't the place for it.  AA does affect more people than racial minorities.  Something I wish Adcomms kept in mind as well... ::)

I third the idea for a financial aid board.  I'm completely lost.  Good call!
