Got the call today from a very nice lady. Not my first choice, but it feels good to get some feedback finally.

Anybody know how this school places in Chicago? Other info?

Congrats!!!

i did my undergrad work at NIU.  Its a good school and the cost isn't crazy.  They have a pretty good law program.  I am not sure how the place in Chicago though.

They place pretty well in Chicago, but if you're wanting to get into a huge law firm, you're better off going to Kent or Depaul. I wanna do public interest, so it'll be a good fit for me if I don't get into U of Illinois.

I got impatient yesterday and e-mailed them- they told me to call them and then told me I was in. Another lady called me today to also tell me I was in. It IS a huge weight off your shoulders though!!

Interesting... NIU is usually brushed aside as a 4th tier toilet and now I hear that it places well in the third largest city in America. Does anyone else think this obsession with the US News ranking might be unhealthy and meaningless?

i don't really look at the tiers and didn't really know their "importance" until i started coming here.  i have always picked schools based on my needs and not on what other people think.  to me NIU is a good school and has a good law school. its one of my top 5 choices.

but anyway.. Congrats again!!!
