I posted this in another section too but realized it might go better here..

so, Minnesota says to account for any quarter where your studies were interrupted in your personal statement.

My personal statement is lovely (and otherwise fits their questions) just the way it is and I really don't want to interrupt the flow of it or write a whole new one by sticking that in there.

Do you think it would be an acceptable for me to write a sort of "addendum to the PS" about the quarter I was out of school instead of putting it in the PS itself, or is that ignoring their instructions too much.  I really think that putting this in my PS would make it much weaker as a piece of writing.
