This is definitely motivation for me to get off my ass and send in an application to Boalt.  I know they're GPA whores and that's kept me from applying, but it seems like the perfect school for me so I need to suck it up and mail it in

more details from the phone call:  they're sending the packet in mid-january (no clue why so late, i wasn't going to ask), and they're paying for my (and every other admittee's, i'm sure) flight to visit in april.

wow, a uc school paying for your flight seems like a big deal.  it looks like you've been allocated money from a small and highly selective discretionary budget.  nice!
