I noticed that, when I post, the time indicated for the post is about three hours earlier than where I'm at (S.F. Bay Area).  Is the server somewhere in the middle of the pacific?

Set your time offset in your personal profile. This will make all of the posts right.

I wondered the same thing though. Where is this time zone? How did it get to be the default for the site?

I think the server is in Texas.  And I know that when setting time, I usually pick "-5" (5 hours ante Greenwich, to which most Bostonians set their clocks).  I must have set the time to "-5" of server time instead - putting the time zone in the pacific.

I can change it quite easily, but that would screw up everyone's personal time settings.  It shouldn't matter though.  The US has four time zones and we should be used to working with multiple zones.
