so, it's almost 5 am and i'm quite drunk.  i really ought to go to bed now but i'm not sleepy since i slept until 2 pm today (after staying out until dawn last night).  i need to get my act together and stop being such a drunk.  now i really am embarrassed

thanks, a.j.  i had an interesting night tonight, actually.  i believe i've posted a few times on this board about my pseudo-stalker?  well he paid my tab tonight at the bar, much to my dismay, and insisted upon driving me home, despite my saying that my friends were perfectly able to drive me.  so, he drove me home and when we got here, he absolutely would not leave!  i gave a fake yawn and said 'oh, i'm so tired, thanks for the ride, happy thanksgiving....' and he took off his f-ing shoes, like he was planning to stay!  i finally got him out, and had barely locked the door behind him when he called, to see if i had gotten to bed okay.  guys are so f-ing weird.....

I hadnt heard the story before but *&^%, that actually sounds potentially dangerous.  You cannot let this guy take you home no matter what.  Dont do that again, seriously.  Call a cab or something.  And I might add that letting him pay your tab is tantamount to letting him think you might give in and/or that you actually owe him something.  When guys get this way beware! 

I hate to sound like the doomsayer without knowing the situation like you obviously do but there is a certain type of guy out there who will do this.  When men lack pride and self-respect they tend to have a missing link somewhere in their brain. 

Am I way off here or are you this concerned?

you're not off base at all.  i hate when guys pay my tab, because they always expect something, in my experience.  one drink is okay, but more than that is a no-no.  that's why i threw such a fit when he paid my tab, and i absolutely did not want him to take me home.  i mean, this kid is weird.  one time, he made a cd for me, and when i said i didn't want it, he brought it to my house in the middle of the night, when i was sleeping, and put it on my car.  creepy, huh?  if i were smart i wouldn't get drunk and put myself into vulnerable situations like this.  i really need to work on that.....

A girl like you should have some big guy friends.  They are easy enough to make in the bar if you cant bring any with you.  You know the type; gruff and broad and with a big brother attitude about him.

you have a very good point.  fortunately, i have a few big guy friends looking out for me.  however, some of them happen to be friends with the pseudo stalker.  by the way, this guy would never physically harm me or anything; he just can't take the hint that i'm not interested.

Still, dont put to much stock into that because it is not really possible for you to see what could be brewing under that harmless veneer.  Just a thought to keep in mind...

I am not suggesting that you should do this necessarily but going to one of your mutual friends and letting them in on some of the stuff he's been doing will undoubtedly end things fast.  The embarresment alone will land him in a sorry heap.  Only use this as a last resort, I would caution.

   this guy is odd, i heard you tell him that you did not like him and to get the @#!* away when he was bugging you last night, i guess that isnt a strong enough hint?  i suppose he just likes you, but he needs to buy a clue and leave you alone.  anyway, i am glad you got home safe.
