The wait and my numbers are killing me.
« on: March 06, 2003, 07:49:59 AM »
I have been out of school for 5 years with a 2.9 GPA and 148 LSAT score.

My dream school was UCLA, but that isn't going to happen. I am still actually waiting for my rejection letter from UCLA. I have already gotten a reject from LUC, and I am waiting on Miami, Loyola Law, UCLA and Howard. My applications have been complete for atleast 3 weeks now.

What's taking so long? I'd rather know now that I am not in, than wait another month! Aren't schools usually quick to ding you?

Well, you haven't been waiting that long.  it usually takes 4-6 weeks. I'm still waiting on some schools that I applied to in December!

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but the schools you applied to, with the exception of Howard, are reach schools for you. You should try to send out some applications to other schools. Good ones are Widener, Regent, NYLS, and Suffolk. Or you should take a year off and try to do better on the LSAT. There has been a large increase in apps across the board this year, so in a lot of cases, 148 isn't going to cut it.

Good luck with your apps.
