I just sat by the phone all day like a schoolgirl waiting for a prom date.  Pick me, Cardinal, please pick me!

I'm going to be away anyway for the Thanksgiving break (though I bet I'll post from my parents' house).

First of all, I wasn't the one who posted on XOXO.  Second of all, my stats:

I'm 3.85 / 168 (AI 3.3)
White male
BA, Yale, 2002
Nominated for best senior essay at Yale, awarded best senior essay in Comparative Literature major.
I really think my personal statement on assisting imprisoned writers abroad was the most compelling part of my app.
Current occupation: Latin Teacher

BTW, I'm murch on LSN.

Edit: Applied 9/17, Received 10/5, never got a "complete" notice

first of all, much congratulations to you and the other stanford acceptees!

i think it's your current occupation that got you the accept, personally.  or that's what i'll tell myself.  (P.S.  me = classics with latin emphasis)
i am officially the biggest nerd of LSD!  ::gleaming with pride, as i shine my yoda trophy::

Thanks Pook et al. for the kind words (and Tom's quotation from Cato -- yeah, Carthage!).  Who knows, Pook might be right.  I must have some X-factor working in my favor; though my numbers are well within SLS's US News statistical range, I still find it odd that I found out this early.  Perhaps Latin teachers are auto-admits at SLS.  ;)
