i was wondering that too.
i think it says something of my chances that i'm not even rushing to check my e-mail right now.
nah, i'm an optimist. opening gmail...
edit: that was a waste of 5 seconds.

re: whether or not they are actually calling people or just saying that in the email: faye deal didn't try to call my cell phone, which is the number i gave as my home phone number. i won't find out until monday morning whether she called work.

OMG~~~ I just got to work, and a Stanford acceptance email was waiting for me!!! This is it for me ... Fricken-A, I don't know if I should call to make sure it's not a joke, or simply put down the coffee.

Congrats all, and wait til you get the free t-shirt - it's way too big.
They also send you a nice magazine that includes some information on all of the professors and such, as well as a fact sheet on what recent graduates are up to.
All in all, I found the acceptance packet pretty useful.

Congrats MariCutie!
What a way to start off the week!
You might as well call it a week and head home!
Tell your boss that you deserve it.
By the way, can you tell Andy C and GULC to give me you spot?
I can't get any work done until I get my inevitable Ding!
Damn the internet. Too much info is not always helpful...

Mariecutie-
Huge congrats - according to LSN that's your top choice. I guess this whole application/admission game is now over for you. Take advantage of it and relax!
I was wondering, when did your app go complete?
Edit: One more thing - I was perusing the Stanford data and discovered that more Mexican-Americans enrolled at Stanford Law School last year than Asian-Americans (61 vs. 54). In addition, of the Asian-Americans enrolled in that year's class, 40 are women, 14 are men. Now, I guess this is just wishful thinking, but someone please tell me that as an Asian American male I'll have a better chance at this place than both Asian-Am women AND Mexican-Ams all other things held constant.

shortckt -- I'll let them know that I've designated someone else to go to Georgetown in my place, and that they just better be happy with it.
tortman -- if i remember correctly, I applied to Stanford either 11/8 or 11/9 (can't remember which batch it went into), they recieved it 11/30, and I just got the complete email 12/1.
My guess is that they MUST be looking at the applications BEFORE they send out the complete emails. I mean, a decision in 5 or 6 days? And Boalt's was 2 days, too. Those liars. But it's ok
