Money for Loyola or San Diego
« on: November 22, 2004, 02:55:02 PM »
Does anyone know what kind of money USD or Loyola gives?  I have 3.51 UGPA from top twenty university and LSAT of 165. I was wondering if those would scholarship range for those schools. Non-URM. Thanks!

LAst year, Loyola was much more generous than USD. USD seems to love the 167 mark.  However, I begged them for some money, and got 15k non-renewable last year with a 3.2/ 165.  So you should be able to get some money.  If not, negotiate.

As far as Loyola, I know people with my numbers who got FULL RIDES, renewable.

Anyways, the point is, you should be getting some money from both schools. If not, negotiate for it.

Wow, full ride at Loyola with those numbers is a nice prospect to shoot for. I'm surprised San Diego is tougher with money seeing they are ranked lower. What does renewable mean? Do you have to finish high in the class to keep that full scholarship?  Thechoson, I also noticed in one of your threads you discussed UNLV. Do you have any idea the scholarship chances there? BTW, congrats on being accepted to ASU from a fellow zonie. Thanks.

Doesn't it suck that the only school in san diego is ranked so low? :(

I'd love to live there for 3 years

Yes it does-that makes me mad as well- I wish UCSD had a law school that competed with Hastings or Davis-- San Diego is fantastic.  So do San Diego firms mainly recruit LA?

How can you overlook the prestigious California Western & Thomas Jefferson schools of law.

So what do you think my chances are for a full ride at USD or loyola with a 3.66 170...these are my main safeties, but if given enough money i might be convinced to go (especially USD because I'm a San Diego native)

Our numbers are similar ceasa, you should have some much better safeties based on those numbers, like Minnesota, GWU, BU..

They all accepted 90% or more of applicants with those numbers last year or the year before

they are more like super safeties...but the most important thing for me is that i want to work in Southern California and i think both these school would allow me to do it while also potentialy being much cheaper than some of my other safeties...also i want to go to school in the same city as my girlfriend who is applying to med schools which has greatly affected where i am applying
