Bork does interest me.  They are a small school with a small faculty, so I could probably actually work closely with him.  However, i'm mainly interested in the full tuition scholarship. I may apply to some other lower-ranked schools to see if I can get someone to give me money to go to law school.  does anyone know which of the top-14 schools give money freely?

i think i heard northwestern if you do have work experience

not top 14 but i've heard
Minnesota
washington and lee
notre dame

Only go to ave maria if you really want the ideology.  I'm sure you can get a full ride at a higher ranked/more stable school otherwise.

If you are interested in the politics of ave maria you should also look at Catholic.

I find it interesting that you mention fighting pornography. For most religious catholics I know that's way down list-past abortion, death penalty, social justice issues and fighting secularism and the decline of the church in the first world.

Well, he didn't exclude those concerns.  Perhaps (if I dare to speculate about his thoughts), he believes that pornography isn't receiving enough attention (of the negative kind).  If that's the case, I agree with him.  Plus, I don't think lobe's Catholic.

Good for you.  Do what you feel is right, don't go to a T1 school if Ave Maria would suit you best.
Accepts: Akron, Washburn, Hamline, Valpo, Mercer, Baylor (Sum), Arkansas, Ohio Northern, Tennessee,  Ave Maria, U of St. Thomas, St. Louis, S Carolina, Hofstra, U Florida.
Rejects: George Mason, UGA (blah).

I'm going to Tennessee!!!!!!

I am a student at ave maria. You will love the school. People think it is all up tight but it is not that way at all. Yes, they do have a catholic theme but nothing is forced on you. For example, one of my profs. had to schedule a double session of class because he missed a class since he was out of town. For the second session he bought us pizza and we brought the beer. So there we were in the "ultra-conservative" law school eating pizza and drinking beer in class. It is a great school and the profs. really care about you. Also, our two bar passages were 93% and 100%. Tops in the state (ahead of Umich).

What else do you think about it, mpete?  You seem to like it there.

It is a great school will a great reputation already. Justice Thomas was our commencement speaker last year. There are numerous judges who are reserving spots for law clerks speciafically for Ave students. Check out the % of students or go on to federal clerkships. The faculty is also very aware of the whole "Tier" system so they want to see us do well so the school is ranked high when it debuts in the rankings.

I am not Catholic.  However, Catholicism has a very strong intellectual tradition which I admire.  Also, other issues are of concern to me, but you can't spend your life tackling absolutely every problem, so I have decided to concentrate on fighting pornography.  Ever since the rise of the Internet, that blight on our society has been spreading.  I'm writing my personal statements on how I want to use my law degree to stand in the gap for decency and to fight obscenity.

So if internet porn is ever outlawed, then I know who is to blame.
