Wisconsin vs. Depaul
« on: April 11, 2004, 02:03:43 AM »
I'm trying to decide between depaul and wisconsin. I want to live and work in Chicago. So, naturally, Depaul(offered me 16k a year) seems like the right choice. Wisconsin, however, appears to be more prestigious and I figure several of its graduates practice in the chicago area. I would appreciate your suggestions

I'd go with Wisconsin.  It's a better school than DePaul and lots of its grads end up in Chicago.  DePaul is kind of low on the feed chain in Chicago too.

Do a Martindale search for WI grads in Chicago.  Go to the NALP website to find out how many Chicago firms recruit at WI.  BTW, I've noticed that all of the Chicago firms have offices in Milwaukee (I never can remember how to spell that) so even if you end up there after graduation you could lateral over to Chicago.
