FDA issues warning for Depo
« on: November 18, 2004, 11:11:27 AM »
this beautiful, smart, extremely outgoing girl i knew in college just had a baby and shortly after started having problems with her bones.. she moved up into management right away and was making good money, now she is out of work, turning into a hunchback, and having to take schedule 2 painkillers to alleviate severe pain from the tiny fractures in her spine...

she went to some of the best hospitals in the country, and specialists said they had never seen anything like it.. she had already been to Penn and Columbia...they had no idea what the cause of her deteriorated bones was...

i open up the paper today, and the FDA issued its strongest blackbox warning against Depo causing decreases in bone density with long-term use.... she had taken it from the time she was 18 thru 24 or so...

i have tried to contact her, but havent reached her yet, so she may not even know yet what the cause is... any idea, how much $$ she stands to gain in a civil action? her life is pretty much ruined, the damage is irreversable.
