UCLA or UT Austin

So here is my dilemma Cali or Texas.
Both places are great academically.
Both places are warm and I hear Austin is a great place to live.
UCLA is near water, but austin is cheaper and less pollution and traffic.
Eventually Ill prolly want to come back to the northeast as Im from NY, but I dont want to go to law school in the northeast.  Weird I know but I dont mind working in cali or austin for a couple of years.  Im hopin someone can give me more insight and help me decide between these two schools.

That's a hard choice because the schools are so similar.  I had a good friend who graduated from UT a few years ago and according to her it was near impossible for UT grads to find a job in Austin after graduation.  Austin isn't that large of a city.  According to her the local market for UT was really Houston.  If she's right then the question isn't whether you like Austin but wheter you like Houston.  I'm not a big fan of Houston myself.  I'd choose LA over Houston. 

But you really can't go wrong with either choice. 

BTW, my friend said that the students at UT were very 'conservative' and 'corporate.'  UCLA might be a bit more liberal.
