I was thinking about this today.  It makes sense that the schools send out rejection letters later in the application season because they may want to hold on to possible admits in case there is an opening near the end of the cycle.

I think thats what waitlisting is for? If your credentials are very poor they're gonna reject you no matter what? I think its that middle-some that get kept for awhile. I think?

If you look at LSN, you see that most schools hold off on rejects until Jan or later.  I think it's so you don't feel like you wasted your app fee and got no consideration.

Someone told me GMU rejected them after like 4 weeks, though...

i will sell my sole to know what an up speaker is...

the sole of your foot?  :D

an upspeaker (as i assume draino menat it) ends every sentence or phrase with a rise in pitch (which actually changes the meaning in some languages, but in english just makes you sound like you're from the valley). so the best way? to represent that over the internet? would be to use question marks? dyou know what i mean?

if you want to know more i refer you to dale spender who wrote about gender & linguistic differences. she's fun.

Are you an "upspeaker"?

yes I am, I think? especially after a long day at classes and not looking over what I'm typing? I hope I don't sound like this in person?

Acceptances: Georgetown, Columbia, NYU & one other school I can't remember, lol.

Still awaiting to hear from: Stanford, Yale, Harvard & Michigan (don't care too much about them though)

Rejection: University of Chicago

I'm hoping for Yale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
