UVa. vs Georgetown
« on: April 07, 2004, 08:43:52 PM »
Trying to make a decision between these two schools.  Already accepted at both.  Any advice?

I'd choose UVA.  It's ranked higher.  Plus I've heard that Georgetown isn't the most pleasant school.  It's huge allegedly very competitive.

I don't know much about either school, but a girl at my Admitted Students Day said that when she visited UVA it seemed very elitist and cutthroat.

I've found gtown to be more generous (full scholarship vs $60,000 at UVa), but UVa is supposed to be one of the most laid back schools around.  I've heard that the two most important things at UVa are softball and beer, which is a lot nicer than grades and law review. . .

Sounds like UVA is the place to go (considering they are offering you money and are ranked higher).  Being a big city boy myself, I prefer D.C. to Charlottesville (but I guess Charlottesville is no small town either).  Will you be able to become a resident of Virginia before your three years are up?  Since it is a public institution, having status as a resident will cut down on your tuition dramatically.

of course UVa, what are you waiting??? even if they didn't give you money and Gtown did, the UVa would still be the choice.
UVa.

by the way, what kind of numbers gives the one such scholarships at such law schools?
