When do schools fly you out to visit?
« on: November 08, 2004, 01:25:35 PM »
I realize this happens sometime after they offer you admission.  From personal experience, does anyone know when schools will start offering to fly you out for a visit?

Stanford is flying me out in January (first class too!).  They're also asking me to present a paper to the law faculty.

anyone have serious answers?  (not that i don't appreciate the funny ones, cuz i do)  i'm curious about this as well.  i would think it would be when they have admitted student weekends though, right?  like gtown has one in january, though i don't know whether they're one of the schools that flies you out.

I'm pretty sure most schools don't actually pay to fly you out....no?

I don't know - my best friend (who went through last year's app cycle) definitely didn't get any offers for reimbursed flights/board when she went to various admitted students weekends (Harvard, Columbia, etc.) I'm pretty sure most will make you foot the bill yourself.
Oh, sweetheart, you don't need law school. Law school is for people who are boring and ugly and serious!
