Major advice

I took the LSAT 3 times and scored 133, 134 and 138 and got an undergrad GPA of 2.84. Currently I'm at graduate school at Georgetown and am working but still have my dream on becoming a lawyer. I plan on re-taking it in Febraury of 2006. Should I give up the dream altogether or work my ass off from now to bring up my score 30 points? Kisser

Have you been studying like crazy for the lsat these last three times? Have you taken a prep course? If not I would say give it a shot in 2006 but study like crazy and do a prep course. Can you get into any school with those stats?

And how did you get into Georgetown with that GPA?

This is absolutely a true story I got into Georgetown because I went to a good undergrad school (Stanford) and I work at Georgetown too so that may have helped. I'm not b*llsh*ing anyone I just wanted some advice as to if I should give up or stay in the law school game despite my bad LSAT scores and mediocre GPA.

Did you study for those first 3 LSATs? If you actually put time into that test and still scored so low, I'd really hope you'd rethink your options.

if its really a dream, then even with those scores, i think you will find a fourth tier school (cooley perhaps) that will take you... you have the grad degree going for you that shows commmitment... you might buy an examples and explanations series book (like contracts).. to see if you have difficulty with the material, which the LSAT performance is supposed to (but does not always) accurately predict.

Are you URM?  If you can get your lsat up to 160 you should be okay at some tier 2s and 3s.
