"New" markers sticking
« on: October 30, 2004, 11:40:05 PM »
Hi Andrew-

I've noticed another thing that's been happening since about the same time the logout problem started.  Before, if I read a thread and then clicked the Back button on IE to go back to the previous board/page, it would remove the "New" marker from that message (having recognized that I already read it) and refresh the page (so newest/updates threads posted at the top).  It doesn't do that anymore, and I have to refresh the board to update the New markers and see updated posts.

It's not really all that big of a deal, since it only requires me to do one click, but it may be in some way related to the other logoff problem.  This is internet Explorer, BTW, if I didn't say that before.  I don't really have much choice about the browser, unfortunately.

I'd also like to add that as much crap as people have given you about censoring stuff, I appreciate that you did it.  I work for an agency that monitors web traffic, and I am probably much less likely to be on their "target list" if there's not a bunch of explitives on the stuff I browse.

the titular issue occurs in firefox as well.  not really a problem, but an interesting thing to note.

as for the censorship, I just like to make fun.  I do think it's pretty TTT to censor TTT though  ;)

I know about the new markers.  It's actually the result of something I was trying as a fix for the logout problem (still working on that one).

Hmm - since it didn't solve the problem, I'll put it back the way it was.

well, I stopped having the problem.  I hope switching it back won't cause me to log off.   :-\

I don't think anyone was seriously upset about the censorship issue.  I found it quite humorous.

Gracias, Andrew!  It definitely helps those of us with short term memory impairment!
